Flower Dust is a 100% natural contact insecticide for agricultural use that is supplied in powder form. The active ingredient is pyrethrum at 0.25% w/w
We are pleased to advise that as from July 2021 – the MPS Group has re-evaluated the active substances ‘pyrethrin’ and has re-classified them, moving them from their red list to the GREEN list (Green being the most environmentally friendly). Flower Dust, uses natural pyrethrum (pyrethrins) as its active.
Flower Dust is applied to the soil around the crop. The pyrethrum is absorbed into the soil and kills all insects within the soil (including pupae) as well as all insects on the soil surface
Flower Dust provides residual protection in and on the soil for over two weeks. As a natural pyrethrum product, no residue will be found on the crop at or after harvest.
Flower Dust is ideal for control of thrips as it kills the pupae in the soil.
Flower Dust can be used as a stand-alone insecticide, or, for brilliant results should be used together with Flower DS 4EC (also supplied by Kapi Limited) which is also a 100% natural agricultural contact insecticide using natural pyrethrum as its active ingredient. Flower Dust controls the soil and soil surface whilst Flower DS 4EC is sprayed onto the crop.
Application is 200kg per hectare.
Flower Dust is supplied in 50kg bags ready for application.
Flower Dust offers the following benefits:
- Very good efficacy on a wide spectrum of insects on or in the soil
- Zero residues on the crop after harvesting. Ideal for export crop needing to conform to M.R.L.’s
- Low mammalian/human toxicity (although PPE precautions should be followed during application)
- Suitable for organic farming
This is an excellent natural product that is used on virtually all commercial farms (export) in Kenya. It is suitable for both conventional and organic farming. Price is highly competitive particularly for a pyrethrum product.
Flower Dust is manufactured and distributed by Kapi Limited, Kenya.
Kapi Limited can provide a full dossier including GLP Toxicological & Physical/Chemical Reports to support registration in your country.
