Flower DS 4EC is a 100% natural insecticide that uses Pyrethrum as its Active Ingredient.

Flower DS 4EC is environmentally very safe – leaving zero residues after a maximum of 24 hours – and is safe for humans and livestock – as the product has proven low mammalian toxicity.

Trials conducted by University of Nairobi show a kill rate of between 96% and 100% using Flower DS 4EC on Desert Locust Hoppers in both laboratory trials and field trials.  This kill rate compares favourably with the chemicals currently being used to control Desert Locust Hoppers, and has the environmental and human advantages detailed above.

 Kapi Limited has just completed registration of its Flower DS 4EC Natural Insecticide with the Kenyan PCPB for use against Desert Locusts. Pyrethrum has long been known to be a highly effective insecticide, whilst being natural. This is the first registration globally of an insecticide using Pyrethrum for use on Desert Locusts and should effect a total mind-set change given its environmental credentials.

 Kapi Limited is now in talks with the FAO to trial Flower DS 4EC in other countries in the Horn of Africa affected by Desert Locust swarms.
